HELLO NAME IS
JOAN Anderton.

I am a member of BACP and work within their guidelines, I receive monthly supervision and support by a qualified supervisor and regularly attend continued professional development courses
I work with couples or individuals who want to improve their relationships or have been hurt by their past or present relationships.
When life gets hard it’s easy to just hope it will get better but when left, what usually happens is it gets worse.
If you want to make changes but don’t know how to begin counselling can help.
I see my job as a counsellor as helping people who don’t know where to turn for unbiased, confidential, help and support. It can be a sudden crisis or a long running relationship issue you’ve decided it’s time to look at resolving.
My approach
Empathy, warmth and sometimes, just a bit of gentle humour, is how I describe my approach. This I feel helps us forge that special relationship between client and therapist.
My training was with Relate, for whom I worked for over 10 years before going into private practice. The word counselling means change, what changes are you looking for? Are you hoping for things to get better, to wake up without that feeling of impending doom, to be comfortable in your own home, no more ‘walking on egg shells’ improved communication, finding the love you have lost, to look forward to life and all it has to offer? I can help with all of this and more.

I have worked with many relationship problems just like yours over the last 19 years so don’t struggle alone give me a call or send an email.
